The Mayor of Newark inspects the Royal Engineers Guard in March or April 1941 during War Weapons Week. The Mayor, Alderman Charles Dale is accompanied by Commander Stephen King Hall, MP, who opened War Weapons Week in Newark. The tail of a captured German aeroplane (a Heinkel HE111) is visible in the background and was exhibited throughout the week of fundraising.
