Transporting spoil by wheelbarrow at Mssrs Cafferata's quarry at Hawton. The walkways were forty foot above the quarry floor and spoil was transported from the gypsum face (left) to the spoil heap (right). It is said that only one man fell from the walkway and that he only sustained a sprained ankle.
