Taylor & Sons Chemist shop which was where the Bainbridges range of buildings later stood; behind down the passage on the right led to the Blue Bell Inn (closed in 1910). This picture dates from 1903, when a colonnade still fronted those shops, and was first published in the Newark Herald in July 1903 and recordsa freak hailstorm which smashed many windows in the town.
