Boughton Pumping Station, c 1920s-1950s

Brake Lane
Boughton
England

Built at the start of the 20th century to supply Nottingham with clean water. The water was that cold when drawn that the manager, Searby (1930s), defied anyone to drink it in one go! The building later became redundant and fell into disrepair. It is now an industrial museum and conference centre. See NCCE003161 to 3163 for exterior views of the pumping station.
