Located at the junction of Boar Lane and Middlegate, the building is said to date from the 16th century and is Grade II listed. The business - first as an agricultural implement agents, and latterly as a pet shop, was owned and run by the Stray family for many years. Strays shop closed on 31st December 2001. For the previous 30 or so years the tenancy was held by mr William Bailey. At the time of writing (2007) the premises have found a new lease of life as a bookshop and cafe.
