Looking southeast from the bridge on the B1186. This is on the ex-Great Central (GC) Lincoln - Sheffield line. In the background is the ex-goods sidings. On the right is the station masters house, which at the time of the photograph was still occupied. The route crosses the Trent at Gainsborough (and, formerly, also at Cottom). The bridge in the background carries the South Clifton - Thorney Brown road. There was only one track used at the time of the photograph which was principally for goods traffic.
