Bertram Mills' Circus was a regular attraction in Newark in the 1930's, pitching their tents on Bowbridge Road near the Hawtonville Hospital. Here, as the circus prepares to leave town, the elephants are being marched back to the Northgate Railway Station for transportation to their next venue
