A photograph taken outside the Plough Innof a group of children from the east side of Farnsfield village taking part in celebrations to mark either VE (Victory in Europe) or VJ (Victory in Japan) Day at the conclusion of World War Two. Amongst those pictured are: BACK ROW: Derek Johnson (2nd from left), Barbara Johnson and Pat Ashwell. MIDDLE ROW: Edna Brown, Brenda Kelham (4th from left), Sheila Kelham (5th) and Ivy Rose (6th). FRONT ROW: Christine Searle (far left) and Stuart Rowley (far right). Picture the Past website contributor Clare Atherley adds: 'My mum, Valerie Atherley, is the smallest girl on the front row. Behind her is her cousin Angus McAskill who lived at Atherley's Bakehouse, Farnsfield.'
