Lombard Street bus station

England

The bus pictured has Gash's fleet number L15. It was a Leyland Leopard bus with bodywork by Plaxtons of Scarborough and had 51 seats. The bus was originally registered as BRR724T and re-registered as MSV925 in August 1985. It was withdrawn from service in April 1987 following an accident. The practice of re-registering coaches with non-year letter registrations (available from the Licensing Office in Swansea), became widespread in the 1980's. Three of the Gash fleet were so re-registered. As already noted, L15, formerly BRR724T became MSV925; L16 was YAL511Y and became MSV926 and L18, a Leyland Leopard Duple coach bought second hand in 1985 as MWG498P (Stirling, 1976) entered service with Gash and Sons as MSV922.
