The notation on the back of this picture said 'The arrival of King George V on a visit to Newark. He visited Newark on 9 July 1928. Arriving at Northgate Station, he was met by the Mayor, C H Dale, and Major Hugh Tallents D S O, Town Clerk.' However close magnification of the King, and study of the fashions of the spectators, revealed that this appears to be a picture showing the King to be Edward VII)
