This is a view of Mrs Florence Knight's wool shop, 19, Cartergate, decorated to celebrate the coronation of King George VI on 12th May 1937. In Newark the coronation service at St Mary's was timed to allow the congregation to return home and hear the investiture broadcast live from Westminster Abbey on the wireless.
