Sherwood Avenue
Newark on Trent
England

The charmingly gothic Barnbygate Lodge was located at the corner of Barnbygate and Sherwood Avenue opposite the present tennis courts, photographed in 1933. The section of Sherwood Avenue which passed beside the house was known as Lodge Lane until it was renamed in 1914. The house was a lodge for the Chauntry House, and was demolished in 1936. (See Newark Herald 4 April 1936, p2 c 3-4.)
