Captain C D Barnard (rear) at the controls of his Spartan aircraft. Captain C D Barnard used this Spartan three seater Mk 1 in his 'Flying Circus' during 1931. Its registration was G-ABJS and it was one of 19 such aircraft built by Spartan Aircraft Ltd. It went to Australia in December 1925 and was withdrawn from use in July 1936.
