Originally endowed by Mrs Moore of Farndon as a cottage for the benefit of poor widows of the parish, the house was long known as a 'Paupers Lodge'. The house was sold in 1975 to raise monies for the Farndon Charities Fund. This picture shows the house after the sale, awaiting the extensive restoration which is evident in the fine private house it has become today.
