Here the river Devon forms the boundary between Newark and Farndon. Looking north west from the Fosse, showing the tower of St Margaret's Roman Catholic Church , and the spire of Newark Parish Church. The river Devon rises on the Wolds, near Croxton Kerrial, Leicestershire, and flows through the Vale of Belvoir to join a spur of the river Trent a short distance from here.
