The Celebrations were held 13-16th July 1927 to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the granting of the Mansfield Market Charter and the 550th anniversary of the July Fair. The chef, Mr Tyler of Stratford on Avon is speaking to The Duchess of Portland, wife of the 6th Duke of Portland: William John Arthur Charles James Cavendish-Bentinck (1857-1943), who was Duke between 1879-1943. Her name was Winifred, Duchess of Portland (Winifred Dallas-Yorke). (d.30th July 1954).
