Note also in this picture: small building far let is the weighbridge together with the 'Down' bay platform and fish dock; the old (now demolished) footbridge over the lines at the north end of the platform; far fight some plate layers may be seen working close to a diesel shunting engine with three wagons attached. In the background is a B1 mixed traffic engine. 'The Elizabethan' express (a summertime service running non-stop?) between Edinburgh and London King's Cross. (Note the train's 'headboard', located at the front of the engine between the buffers, which carries this name). The 'A4' class were fitted with a distinctive and melodious 'chime' whistle.
