"Barney the owl" in Cropwell Bishop dressed up in flag to celebrate 75th anniversary of VE Day.

"Barney the owl" on Cropwell Butler Road is carved from the trunk of a sycamore tree that was chopped down 3 years ago. The owners dress him up for special occasions and he has become quite a landmark in the village. He is dressed in a VE Day flag with bunting attached and is adorned by a cut out rifle and a green military tin helmet ready for the celebrations to begin.
