The picture must have been taken after the transepts were inserted in 1887, but pre-1904 because in that year a new pulpit was dedicated to the memory of the Revd J. E. Phillips, a former vicar, and the picture shows quite a different pulpit. (Additional information very kindly supplied by Garry Humphreys).
