This picture has the strange caption of ' Group of boys taken to a convalescent home (fathers unemployed)' July/August 1937. The boys could either have been on their way to recover from an illness such as tuberculosis or, more likely, they were children of unemployed coal miners waiting to be taken to the Miners Convalescent Home at Skegness (which later had the Miners Holiday Camp attached to it) for a holiday.
