A telephoto view looking north from the tower of St Mary's Parish Church. In the foreground is the Sun Inn on Derby Road, then Hall Park playing fields, followed by some modern additions to Eastwood Hall, at this time Area Headquarters of the National Coal Board. Surrounding the Hall is the partly landscaped but vast dirt tip of Moorgreen Colliery, which remained in use until the mine closed in 1985.
