Station building is now used as a youth club (other side faces Shearing Hill). Closed to passengers 4/4/1960 and to goods 12/3/1962 (source:The Great Northern Railway In The East Midlands by Alfred Henshaw). Mapperley Library Tunnel, under Plains Road,was closed due to safety concerns resulting in the demise of passenger services from Nottingham Victoria to Basford via Gedling.
