See NCCC000191 for an image showing the station very shortly after this photograph where the sleepers have been removed. Daybrook station was closed in March 1960 due to the closure of the Mapperley Library tunnel (subsidence) and had nothing to do with Beeching's rail cuts as had previously been suggested.
