The Lurchills (also known as the Cross Keys Path) was a path leading from behind the Eagle Tavern on Woodhouse Road, down Clumber Street, down on to Westgate (pictured), across onto Meeting House Lane, Rosemary Street and Stockwell Gate, that vagrants took to avoid the town centre on the way to the workhouse. From Westgate it was to left of Stanford Butcher's shop.
