The house was built around 1770 by the Rector of Teversal and extended in the early 1800s. The mansion has an interesting history, serving for many years as a 'Ladies' Boarding Establishment'. In 1976 it was purchased by Philip and Christine Jordan who later converted it into a guest house and it is now a garden centre.
