The north side of the Arnold to Eppestone Road, seen from the northwest. In the foreground is the original worked out clay quarry. The clay is brought from a quarry on the south side of the road. The two white objects on the left are not traction engines, but oil storage tanks for the oil-fired kilns. The word 'patent' concerned the process of brickmaking, not the type of brick produced.
