Beeston Railway Station
Beeston
Nottinghamshire
England

Beeston Station looking north-east towards Nottingham and most likely taken from the pedestrian bridge at the southern end of the station (Maltings). A station was first provided at Beeston in 1839 for the opening of the Derby-Nottingham section of the Midland Counties Railway, although the twin-gabled station building just visible here dates from 1847, by which time the MCR had become part of the Midland Railway. The footbridge and level crossing in the distance were, in more recent times, replaced by an overbridge, but that aside, the station is little changed from this pre-First World War scene today. The land to the right, where the advertisement hoardings are, is now where the car park stands.
