Beeston Station looking south-west towards Long Eaton. A station was first provided at Beeston in 1839 for the opening of the Derby-Nottingham section of the Midland Counties Railway, although the twin-gabled station building just visible here dates from 1847, by which time the MCR had become part of the Midland Railway. The station is little changed from this pre-First World War scene today.
