This view shows the north gable of the Servants Quarters. To the left are the toilets and laundry, built on after the building became a school. The house was built in 1873 for Walter Tindsley, a lace manufacturer, and sold to Nottinghamshire County Council Education Department by a Mrs Ward, the last owner, in 1930. From then until 1976 it was used as a school, with boarding facilities, for children with special needs. After this it was left vacant for a time.
