Victor Thomas Trumper and Reginald Alexander Duff were Australia's opening batsmen in the test series against England. The match at Trent Bridge took place over 29th to 31st May 1905. V T Trumper had to retire hurt from the first Australian innings, having scored 13 runs. He did not bat in the second innings. R A Duff scored 1 in the first innings and 25 in the second innings. England won the test match by 213 runs and the series 2-0, and retained the ashes.
