Two Colwick-bound pleasure steamers moored on the River Trent below Trent Bridge, the nearest being Empress. The bridge itself can be seen in the background of this view which is looking south-east. To the left of this is the Ivory Palace of the short-lived Midlands Industrial Exhibition. Opened in 1903, this was destroyed by fire just 14 months later.
