This building was opened in 1907 adjacent to the existing school building of 1873 to provide a separate Infants' Department. Its plain architectural style was in marked contrast to its earlier, ornate counterpart, which is out of view behind the photographer. Both buildings were later replaced by a new school at the south end of the village.
