Originally endowed by Margaret Sherbrooke in 1783, the building was rebuilt in 1831 and then replaced by the premises shown here, funded by public subscription in 1870. The school closed in 1984 but the building survived and in 2013 was in use as the independent Salterford House Preparatory School.
