Killed in action during the Great War. Taken from the 'Worksop Roll of Honour' book published by Sisson & Son in 1934, page 55. Worksop Guardian carried the following: The report in our last issue that Pte J.R Forth, 2nd-8th Sherwood Foresters, son of Mrs Forth and brother of Mrs Dewsnap, Marecroft, has died as the result of wounds received in action at Dublin has been confirmed. The gallant lad who was 19 years of age enlisted in November 1914 and with his company was drafted to Ireland. He took part in the fighting at Mount Street Bridge. Forth was a well conducted young fellow and he met his death most bravely.
