The Old Ship Inn decorated for an unknown special occasion (this could have been the 1905 royal visit, but the style of clothes suggests a slightly earlier date of around the late 1890's. (Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee ? in 1897). Compare this picture with NCCN000513 dated c 1900. The building has been painted by this time. The Old Ship Inn was built in the late-15th or early 16th century, although renovated many times, it still maintains a great deal of its original character .
