Georgian Municipal offices and the back of the Victorian Town Hall, Retford

Chancery Lane
Retford
England

The photograph shows the Georgian offices and the cupola on top of the Victorian Town Hall. (A Georgian Town Hall was erected in 1756 which replaced the old Moot Hall, which stood upon the same ground as the present one, was erected in 1389, and pulled down in 1754.) The Victorian building was built in 1866-8 by Bellamy and Hardy of Lincoln in a french style. (The low section of the building is now used as The Citizen Advice Bureau)
