Mr Vickers was a licensed hawker, who would 'hawk' his goods for sale around the Retford district. On his cart he has stoneware jugs ,a funnel, clothes and rags in baskets. His horse and cart is standing outside George Wilson's grocery shop, above which is a sign saying 'licensed beer dealer and porter. NOT to sell on Sundays'
