Showing the War Memorial, Nat West Bank and York County Savings Bank. The attractive Market Square was laid out in the 18th century and is surrounded by elegant Georgian buildings. The war memorial was erected in 1921, and was unveiled by former M P Sir Frederick Milner. 302 men lost their lives in the Great War, and 110 names were added after the Second World War.
