Newstead Abbey
England

Boatswain (sometimes written as Bosun), a Newfoundland, was poet Lord Byron's favourite dog and when he died a large monument in his memory was erected on what was thought to be the position of the High Altar of the old priory church at Newstead Abbey, Byron's home. Byron himself composed the inscription.
