Railway viaduct over River Meden, Mansfield Woodhouse, 1875

River Meden
Mansfield Woodhouse
England

This viaduct was located on the Midland Railway's Mansfield to Worksop extension, opened in 1875 and now designated the Robin Hood Line. Situated between Mansfield Woodhouse and Shirebrook, it crossed the river as the Meden emerged from Pleasley Vale. In the late 20th century the viaduct was converted into an embankment. The river here forms the county boundary between Nottinghamshire (right) and Derbyshire (left).
