The father-in-law of Mansfield-based artist, photographer and antiquarian A S Buxton in army uniform. It is possible this photograph was taken when the subject had returned to the Army as a reservist, having previously served in the Army Pay Corps. His cap badge is that of the Sherwood Foresters; presumably he was in a reserve battalion.
