A large, relatively relaxed group in their outdoor summer clothes. The photographer's wife, Edith Buxton (nee Stendall), is seated in the centre, touching the arm of the young woman with the straw boater on her lap. The others depicted are unidentified but some may well be artist/student friends of the Buxtons.
