Miss R Riley, a member of the Library staff, running a story-telling session to assembled children during the school holidays. Until the late 1960s Meden Vale was known as Welbeck Colliery Village, the settlement having been created to house workers at the mine. Welbeck Colliery was in operation from 1912 until 2010.
