Newark Road
Barnby in the Willows
England

Looking east from Newark Road into Front Street with Long Lane coming in from the left. The white building in the left distance is the The W illow Tree public house. The signpost indicates that via Long Lane it is 2 miles to Beckingham and 17 miles to Sleaford. The Willow Tree was originally a small farmhouse and barn and is thought to date from 1738. It became a licensed house in the 1870s when Thomas Grocock became 'beer-house keeper'. At the time of this photo it was a Courage pub.
