This express passenger train is on the 'Down-Main' Line heading north from Newark to York. On the left of the picture is the ball-bearing factory of Messrs Ransome and Marles. Behind the train hidden from view is the Newark South signal box, whilst the signal gantry on the far right of the picture is for the Newark-Bottesford line.
