Dennis Lancet III bus with bodywork by Yeates. Acquired by Gash's in April 1947 (new) and withdrawn from service in 1961. The Gash's Fleet number for this bus was DS2. The photo was possibly taken at Loughborough when the bus was newly out of Yeates Coachworks and before delivery. In 1961it was sold to Wright of Lincoln for non psv use. 'Demand for new vehicles after the war led to some unusual types joining the Gash fleet. The local dealer, Yeates of Loughborough, provided the bodywork on this Dennis Lancet III, registered HRR 579, in 1947. The very high engine/radiator mounting is well disguised by the flowing style of the postwar bodywork design'. (R Marshall)
