The two stone art-deco lions were created by Joseph Else and stand guard on either side of the entrance steps to the Council House. They have alternative 'names' attached to them, some people call them "Menelaus and Agamemnon", others "Leo and Oscar", and are a common meeting point used by the people of Nottingham.
