Looking north from Nottingham Road into High Street with St Albans Road joining on the left and Hallam's Lane (later Arnot Hill Road) on the right. The large building on the left is the Lenton & Nottingham Co-operative Society's Branch No 211, while that on the right is the Carnegie Library (now demolished). There is a sewer stink pipe on the corner of Hallam's Lane.
