Clifton on Trent station
North Clifton
England

Austerity' 2-8-0 No 90275 passing through Clifton-on-Trent station with a train of empty mineral wagons, no doubt en route to one of the North Nottinghamshire collieries. The view is looking east. Clifton-on-Trent railway station was opened by the Lancashire, Derbyshire & East Coast Railway in March 1897 and was closed to passenger traffic by British Railways in 1955. It was situated midway between the villages of North Clifton and South Clifton, being close to the eastern end of the lengthy Fledborough Viaduct, which took the LDECR across the River Trent.
