Looking west: 4-4-2 tank engine 67437 on a Shirebrook - Lincoln train. Clifton on Trent railway station was a former railway station near North Clifton in Nottinghamshire. It was opened by the Lancashire, Derbyshire and East Coast Railway in March 1897 and closed by British Rail in 1955. It was actually midway between North Clifton and South Clifton, being at the eastern end of the Fledborough Viaduct where it crossed the River Trent.
